Antonio Tahhan

In 2010, I moved to Syria on a Fulbright research grant to study food in Aleppo.

I'm indebted to the Syrians who welcomed me and generously shared their food, knowledge, and hospitality.

I started this blog from that experience and it has become a lifelong journey to document, share, and celebrate the layered foodways of the Middle East.

في عام 2010، انتقلتُ إلى سوريا بمنحة بحثية من برنامج الفولبرايت لدراسة المطبخ الحلبي.

أدين بالكثير للسوريين الذين رحّبوا بي وأحسنوا ضيافتي، وشاركوني بسخاء طعامهم ومعارفهم.

بدأتُ هذه المدوّنة انطلاقًا من تلك التجربة، وأصبحت رحلةً أواصلها مدى الحياة, لتوثيق ثقافة الطعام في الشرق الأوسط والاحتفاء بها بكلّ ما فيها من تنوّع وثراء.
